Paperback Book Christmas Tree Tutorial as seen on Create and Craft

Good evening to you all

Back again with another Tutorial this time for the

Paperback Book Christmas Tree.

Materials Needed:
A paperback book
Craft Knife
Double sided Hi tack tape
Silicone glue gel
Decorated Cotton Bobbin for tree to sit on
Optional Supplies, glitter, glue, distress ink pad and Rhinestone sparklers.

Take a paperback book and gently remove the cover of the book so that it is completely bear! Be careful not to damage the spine of the book.

Count out 15 pages of the book (each side counts as a page). Use your knife to slice down the spine where you have portioned off your 15 pages. Peat this process again so that you have 2 sets of page in all.

Take one set of pages and place it flat on the table so the spine faces left. Take the right corner and fold it down so that the edge of the corner touches the spine.

Take the part of page where the folded edge meets the straight edge and fold it over so that it lays flat with the spine. (if you can make a paper plane you can do this no problem!) I like to fold the overhanging part up but if you prefer you can cut it off. Continue to do this to the remaining pages. Repeat this process on your 2nd set of pages but before you begin to fold lay the pages so that the spine of the book faces the right.

If you are going to ink the edges of your pages do so know before joining the 2 parts together. Attach a strip of doubles adhesive down the spine of folded pages and attach to the other half. Lay down the pages and add glue to the front and last page, leave to dry.

Add a blob of silicone glue to the bottom of the tree and place on decorated tree bobbin leave to dry.

Once dry decorate with rhinestone sparklers, these are best attached using silicone glue gel.

If you wish to make a display of trees that vary in height, just cut book pages to the required length before folding.

enjoy playing
hugs
